Kingdom Breweries
Kingdom Breweries is Cambodia's craft beer brewery, located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia founded by Leopard Capital. The brewery sits alongside the banks of the Tonlé Sap river〔http://articles.latimes.com/2011/nov/20/travel/la-tr-cambodiabeer-20111120〕 on the north end of Cambodia's capital, and is housed in a renovated factory formerly occupied by Nestlé. The company is co-owned by Leopard Cambodia Fund, Cambodia's first private equity fund operated by frontier markets private equity firm Leopard Capital,〔http://www.leopardasia.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2&Itemid=3〕 and Charles Street International.
Kingdom launched its first beer, Clouded Leopard Pilsener in September 2010,〔http://www.time.com/time/travel/article/0,31542,2020970,00.html〕 which was awarded a Belgian Monde Selection Gold Quality Award in 2011.〔http://www.monde-selection.com/en/〕 However, Monde Selection awards are non-competitive and only products that pay to enter are judged.
